As an intern in the Verizon Legal Internship Program, I Assisted the Office of General Counsel in contracts involving privacy, intellectual property, and real estate department. My days were filled researching and writing memoranda, strategizing legal risk involved with initiating or streamlining business campaigns.

As a tax intern with a law school background, I prepared scenario analysis for tax and legal compliance issues for partnerships, corporations, individuals, and nonprofit foundations. I gained invaluable experiences working with comprehensive tax returns and well as negotiating deals with the Internal Revenue Service and various state tax authorities.
Conducted research and drafted bench memoranda on a wide range of family law issues. Gained experience observing trials involving restraining orders, custody modification, child support, and guardianship. Assisted management of daily operations of the chambers, court calendar, and mediation.

Represented clients in the areas of civil, family, and criminal litigation. Gained experience organizing 501(c)(3)s, representing clients in tax examinations, and assisting start-ups. Another component of this position required building relationships in the community through grassroots organizations such as the Newark Community Street Team (“NCST”). NCST is an organization meant to assist ex-offenders with legal issues to help avoid recidivism.
